Morfoanatomia das folhas e dos caules jovens de Arrabidaea chica (Humb. & Bonpl.) B. Verl. (Bignoniaceae)

Abstract

Arrabidaea chica é utilizada popularmente como agente antiinflamatório, contra diarréias e como corante para a pele. Neste estudo, foram determinadas as características botânicas e físico-químicas para a Arrabidaea chica (Humb. & Bonpl.) B. Verl., com o objetivo de auxiliar a sua identificação taxonômica e o controle de qualidade desta planta medicinal. As folhas são trifolioladas e apresentam gavinhas. A cutícula é estriada; os estômatos são anisocíticos. No caule, ocorre estruturação reticulada de parênquima e esclerênquima junto aos tecidos condutores e aos cristais prismáticos na medula. Testes microquímicos mostraram a presença de compostos fenólicos e principalmente gotículas de lipídeos no mesofilo.

Arrabidaea chica is popularly used as an anti-inflammatory agent against diarrhea and as a staining skin as well. The botanical and physical-chemical characteristics of A. chica were determined in this study in order to provide tools for both the taxonomical identification and the quality control of this medicinal plant. The leaves are trifoliate and have claspers, the cuticle is striated, with anisocytic stomata. The stem presents a parenchymal and sclerenchymatous structure, together with the conductive tissue and the prismatic crystals in the medulla. The microchemical tests showed the presence of phenolic compounds and drops of lipids mainly localized in the mesophyll.
