Estado taxonómico y distribución geográfica de las especies del género Homonota (Sauria, Gekkonidae)

Abstract

Se discute el estado taxonómico y la distribución geográfica de los gekkónidos neotropicales del género Homonota y se señalan sus grupos de especies morfológicas y sus relaciones evolutivas.

Taxonomic status and geographical distribution of neotropical gekkonids of the genus Homonota are discussed and its morphological species groups and evolutionary relationships are pointed out. A southern smooth-skinned and a northern, subtropical, keeled group of forms are evident. The probably relictual and disjoined distribution areas of H.darwini macrocephala and H.darwini darwini are emphasized. Our Improved knowledge about the distribution patterns of Homonota species enable us to correct several previous reports on the geographical dispersion of the genus.
