Resumen
A cluster analysis of the vegetation units identified in the floristic inventory of forests from Martin Garcia Island was carried out and associated with a site classification based on a vegetation importance index which was closely related to an environmental gradient. The results allowed to group together the "Bosque xeromórfico" (X) and "Coronillar" (C) units, which were associated to the highest and most distant sites from the river (group A), while the units of “Bosque Ribereño” (BR) and “Selva Marginal” (SM) were associated with the lowest sites and nearest to the river (group C).
