The W UMa system of ε Coronae Austrinae only shows the spectrum of one of the components which corresponds to type FOV. Since the amplitudes of the two light minima are approximately equal, the two components must have comparable surface brightness and, as a consequence, the fact that only one spectrum shows must mean that the two stars that form the system are of very similar spectral type and of different dimensions. We may be dealing with a system the interpretation of which may be important to understand evolution in close binaries.
