Trazos del habitar

Abstract

El artículo reflexiona acerca del análisis de cartografías urbanas producidas por habitantes de la ciudad en el marco del trabajo de campo en la periferia de La Plata. La hipótesis interpretativa del artículo es que las cartografías urbanas deben ser interpretadas como trazos del habitar, huellas de los modos de vivir la ciudad. Para esto se despliega un diálogo crítico organizado alrededor de tres grandes conceptos. En primer lugar, la noción de experiencia permite abordar las cartografías como indicios del habitar la ciudad antes que por su adecuación con la realidad urbana. En segundo lugar, la idea de líneas permite explorar la relación entre la experiencia sensible de habitar la ciudad y las imágenes socialmente disponibles para dotar de sentido a dicha experiencia. Por último, la construcción de cartografías con puntos de vista singulares permite reflexionar sobre los modos en que los actores se apropian de las imágenes socialmente disponibles y, al mismo, tiempo las desestabiliza.

the article reflects on the analysis of urban cartographies produced by city dwellers during the fieldwork in the periphery of La Plata. the interpretative hypothesis of the article is that urban cartographies should be interpreted as traces of inhabiting, traces of the ways of dwelling the city. For this, a critical dialogue organized around three great concepts unfolds. In the first place, the notion of experience allows us to approach cartographies as signs of inhabiting the city rather than its adequacy with urban reality. Second, the idea of lines allows us to explore the relationship between the sensitive experience of inhabiting the city and the socially available images to give meaning to that experience. Finally, the construction of cartographies with specific points of view allows us to reflect on the ways in which the actors appropriate the socially available images and, at the same time, destabilize them.
