The anomaly found In the internal part of the geomagnetic daily variations (g.d.v.) at the Peruvian dip equator is studied introducing a simple model for the ionospheric current system found in the previous work. The field induced at ground by that system Is computed using a model for the distribution of the earth conductivity. The depth of the non-conducting layer, p, Is found by fitting the results with the internal part of the g.d.v. This method allows to remove the usual hypothesis, when dealing with equatorial zones, which supposes the quotient between the internal and external parts of the planetary field to be equal to 0.4; with the model proposed here, this quotient Is found to be a function of p.
