This paper analyzes the observations carried out in an elderly center in the city of Trevelin, Chubut. These observations are constructed and analyzed from attachment theory. For this, we take concepts of the theory of attachment Bowlby (1979, 1980) and the categorization of Ainsworth (1969) without neglecting current research and criticism (Fonagy et al., 1995; Korstanje, 2009; Main, Kaplan & Cassidy, 1985; Paolicchi, 2014).
This work seeks to understand and stress attachment situations in old age while maintaining a respectful, critical and multidisciplinary look. The purpose pursued was to investigate the parameters of attachment (Bowlby, 1979) and its application to old age from a case study, as well as to analyze the contributions of Moreno, Resett and Schmidt (2015) to place social representations around to old age.
Through direct natural observation (Bakeman & Gottman, 1989), we studied the case study: Don Julio. Maintaining a dialogue between attachment theory and old age we question whether this child-adult perspective similarly maintains an ethical position when applying categories created for early childhood in old age because the categories designed for an early childhood stage could be different when trying to understand the behavior and social relationships that an elder can establish.
