This work falls within the framework of research on the specificity of reading in psychoanalysis from Jaques Lacan’s perspective. The importance of reading appears at the very beginning of psychoanalysis. Sigmund Freud, in 1899, creates a method that allows to grant another reading to the dream content - considered a writing- giving rise to the assumption of the effective presence of a psychic system sustained in its own logic: the unconscious. This being a reading close to the interpretation, product of the knowledge thrown by the associations of the dreamer in the framework of a treatment. In this paper we will pay more attention to the reading operation in Lacan's work, an operation that takes on new scope when defined from a different frame of reference to that proposed by Freud, such as from the premise of the absence of a prediscursive reality.
