Simulation of self similar random processes and its parameters estimation

Abstract

An estimator of the self-similarity parameter for certain classes of random processes is presented. Simulation of synthetic data is also treated. The estimator was implemented for both the case 1D and 2D, verifying a high linearity and robustness in the estimation. Finally potential application from real world images such SAR images are also discussed.
