The case presented in this paper belongs to a wider research that aims to detect the stylistic features of Charly García‟s songs from the first Sui Géneris album Vida (1972) to the album Say no more (1996), of his soloist stage. Since the emphasis of the research is on the style of the composer, the corpus is integrated by one hundred and twenty four songs signed by Charly García exclusively. The analysis is based on Leonard Meyer‟s notion of style and has been developed in melodic, harmonic, metric-rhythmic and textural/instrumental aspects. This time I will expose the metric-rhythmic features by using three criteria: rhythmic-metric dissonances, the relationship between musical accents and those of the text, and the link between the formal structures of text and music in the sung segments. These contributions are intended to expand to the knowledge of the music of Charly Garcia and by extension to a history of rock in Argentina that addresses the music in their stories.
