Pobreza de tiempo e ingresos: mediciones y determinantes para la Argentina

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es estudiar la desigualdad en el uso del tiempo en Argentina, medida en las brechas existentes en tasas de participación y horas dedicadas al trabajo remunerado y no remunerado, y medir la pobreza de tiempo y estimar sus determinantes, a partir de la Encuesta sobre el trabajo no remunerado y el uso del tiempo, implementada por el Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas y Censos en 2013, única de cobertura nacional. Los resultados indican que las asignaciones de tiempo entre varones y mujeres difieren y refuerzan las inequidades en otros atributos económicos y sociodemográficos, manifestándose en pobreza de tiempo. La pobreza de tiempo resulta mayor para las mujeres y para quienes tienen mayores responsabilidades de cuidado, principalmente de niños menores de 5 años y adultos mayores.

The main purpose of this paper is to study the inequality in the use of time in Argentina, measured in the existing gaps in participation rates and hours dedicated to paid and unpaid work, and to measure time poverty and estimate its determinants, with the Survey on unpaid work and time use, implemented by the National Institute of Statistics and Census in 2013, the only one of national coverage. The results indicate that time allocations between men and women differ and reinforce the inequities in other economic and sociodemographic attributes, manifesting themselves in time poverty. Time poverty is greater for women and for those who have greater care responsibilities, mainly children under 5 years old and older adults.
