Periodontitis apical: relación entre el tamaño de la lesión y el diagnóstico histopatológico

Abstract

Objetivos: Estudiar la relación entre el tamaño radiográfico de las lesiones periapicales y su diagnóstico histopatológico. Discusión: Se ha reportado baja incidencia de quistes (15%) diagnosticados luego de la extracción de piezas dentarias con lesiones apicales,. Sin embargo, este reporte está realizado con lesiones pequeñas afectando solo una pieza dentaria. La literatura muestra relación estadísticamente significativa entre el tamaño de una radiolucidez periapical entre QIR y GA. 2-10mm son 11.3% QIR 10-20mm 42% QIR. Pero aún así, el tamaño radiográfico no es aún suficiente para determinar la asociación. Futuras investigaciones deberían incluir en las patologías respecto del tamaño de la lesión. Conclusión: los resultados de este trabajo demuestran que el área de las lesiones de GA sería de menor tamaño en comparación a las lesiones asociadas a QIR.

Future research should incur in the pathologies regarding the size of the lesion. Conclusion: The results of this work demonstrate that the area of GA lesions would be smaller in comparison to the lesions associated with QIR.
