Transformaciones socio-ambientales y potencial agroecológico frente al cambio climático en la región Costa Sur de Jalisco, Occidente de México

Abstract

Este trabajo presenta los resultados de un proyecto de investigación-acción que busca entender la perspectiva de los actores locales en torno al fenómeno del cambio climático y las nuevas políticas que se diseñaron para frenar sus impactos negativas. A partir de varios talleres, se recuperaron los testimonios locales en torno la región Costa Sur de Jalisco en el Occidente de México y sus transformaciones. De estos testimonios se concluye que los actores locales tienen un amplio conocimiento de su entorno socio-ambiental, así como que existe una gran potencial agroecológico para frenar los impactos negativos del cambio climático.

This paper presents the results of an action research project that seeks to understand local actors´ perspectives of the phenomenon of climate change and new policies designed to mitigate its negative impacts. By organizing various workshops, testimonies were recovered from the South Coast region of Jalisco in western Mexico and its transformations. From this evidence it can be concluded that local actors have extensive knowledge of the socio-environmental context, and there is a great agro-ecological potential to mitigate the negative impacts of climate change.
