Vigo diseñador

Abstract

Esta lectura se sitúa en el espacio que ocupa Vigo entre el arte y el diseño. Mucho se ha escrito sobre lo multifacético de su obra, pero poco se ha dicho de Vigo diseñador. El artista platense se apropió de esta práctica para dialogar con sus materiales y procedimientos, desde la tipografía hasta la diagramación, desde la fotografía hasta los medios de reproducción, buscando modos de circulación por fuera de las instituciones, para romper la unicidad de la obra y colocar el arte en la calle. Hilvanada al desarrollo de los debates del arte del siglo XX, su obra expone la posibilidad de un diseño que configura nuevos modos de ver y revulsiona el orden: el de la burocracia oficinesca y judicial como expresión de un sistema opresivo, el de la dictadura como expresión del autoritarismo, el de aquello que nos limite en favor de aquello que nos haga más humanos.

This reading is situated in the space occupied by Vigo between art and design. Much has been written about the multifaceted nature of his work, but little has been said about Vigo the designer. The artist from La Plata appropriated this practice to dialogue with his materials and procedures, from typography to diagramming, from photography to the means of reproduction, looking for ways of circulation outside the institutions, to break the uniqueness of the work and place art on the street. Related to the development of art debates of the twentieth century, his work exposes the possibility of a design that shapes new ways of seeing and revulsion order: that of the clerical and judicial bureaucracy as an expression of an oppressive system, that of the dictatorship as expression of authoritarianism, that of what limits us in favor of what makes us more human.
