O herói atleta: mito e religião nos Jogos Helénicos

Abstract

Proponemos, en este artículo, analizar la relación construida por los griegos antiguos entre la heroización del ciudadano atleta y el imaginório mítico-religioso. Partiremos de la afirmación de que los Juegos eran un <i>espejo</i> de la vida y de la sociedad de los helenos; permitiendo una cohesión social en las <i>póleis</i>.

The focus of this article is to analyze the relation between the heroization of the athlete citizen and the mythic-religious imaginary built by the ancient Greeks. The analysls starts on the idea that the Games were a <i>mirror</i> of life and the Greek society; allowing social cohesión in the <i>póleis</i>.
