¿Esta descripto un eclipse en <i>La Odisea</i>?

Abstract

Los poemas homéricos dieron lugar, desde la antigüedad, a toda una serie de controversias en cuanto a la veracidad de los hechos ahí narrados. Sin embargo los hallazgos arqueológicos de las ciudades descritas por aquél, fueron mostrando que la fantasía en dichos poemas, ocupa un lugar cada vez menor. Es paradigmático el caso de H. Schliemann quien por medio de una lectura directa de <i>Ilíada</i> descubrió Troya en 1871. Del mismo modo nos acercaremos a las citas de índole astronómica que figuran a lo largo del último mes del regreso de Odiseo a Itaca con el propósito de notar si componen un núcleo verosímil de acontecimientos.

Since ancient times the Homeric poems have stirred all kinds of controversies regarding the veracity of the facts therein narrated. However more recently the archaeological discoveries of cities portrayed by the Poet has steadily diminished the space we may attribute to fantasy in the poems, starting with the paradigmatic case of H. Schliemann who, by following a literal reading of the <i>Iliad</i>, discovered in 1871 the remains of Troy. We shall approach in the same spirit the descriptions of astronomical phenomena in the narrative of the last month of Odysseus journey home to Ithaka, in order to determine whether they compose a coherent nucleus of events.
